Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT)
Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy
Hyperbaric oxygen therapy, also known as HBOT, is a pressurized chamber that allows you to breathe air or enriched oxygen at a higher pressure than normal atmospheric pressure. This helps to increase the amount of oxygen in your blood and tissues, which can promote healing and recovery.
During your first dive, you will be guided through the process by our staff. You will enter the chamber and lie down on a comfortable bed or chair. The chamber will be sealed, and the pressure will gradually increase to the prescribed level. It’s important that you are able to equalize your ears, just like on an airplane. We can coach you through this on your first visit. If you have any difficulties, options like chewing gum, drinking water or using ear plugs can help.
Please note, we have a strict no scent policy, specifically for in the chamber. This includes no smoking or vaping for at least 2 hours prior to your treatment. Please refrain from using any perfumes and colognes, scented body lotions/soaps/shampoo/conditioner, hairspray, etc. If you arrive for your session with a detectable scent, you will not be allowed in the chamber and you will need to reschedule. A second offence will result in a charge as a “no-show” for your session.
In order to access hyperbaric oxygen therapy, an initial 30 minute screening consultation ($120) is required. Although this appointment is with a naturopathic doctor, no other treatment options will be provided.
