Colon Hydrotherapy

Colon Hydrotherapy

Colon Hydrotherapy, also known as a colonic or colon cleansing, is a safe and effective method of removing waste and toxic build-up from the colon, without the use of drugs or supplements.

Warm filtered water is gently released into the colon, thereby softening fecal matter, stimulating the colon’s natural peristaltic action. This process assists in the detoxification process, and cleanses the colon of excess mucus, fecal matter, gas, environmental or food pollutants, and other harmful toxic substances.

Waste material contains toxins which can permeate through the colon walls thereby entering the bloodstream causing illness, fatigue, fogginess, bloating, irritation and inflammation. Impacted materials impair the colon’s ability to absorb nutrients. A build-up of waste matter in the colon can inhibit muscular or peristaltic action causing sluggish bowel movements, constipation, diarrhea and other health issues.

True body health requires us to have a healthy digestive system in order to maintain proper daily function. With Colon hydrotherapy we cleanse the colon and decrease the toxic load on the body’s other elimination organs.

Colon Hydrotherapy FAQ

1. What is colon hydrotherapy?

Colon hydrotherapy, also known as colonic irrigation, is a gentle internal cleansing process that uses warm, purified water to help remove waste, gas, and toxins from the large intestine (colon). It's a natural and effective way to support digestive wellness and overall health.

2. Is colon hydrotherapy safe?

Yes, when performed by a trained and certified professional using FDA-registered equipment, colon hydrotherapy is very safe. All tools used during the procedure are sterile and disposable, ensuring hygiene and client safety.

3. What are the benefits of colon hydrotherapy?

Some potential benefits include:

  • Improved digestion and elimination

  • Relief from bloating and gas

  • Increased energy and mental clarity

  • Better nutrient absorption

  • Support for detoxification and immune function

  • Relief from constipation

4. Does the procedure hurt?

Most clients report that the session is comfortable and relaxing. You may experience a feeling of fullness or mild cramping as the colon contracts, but this typically subsides quickly as waste is released.

5. How long does a session take?

A standard colon hydrotherapy session lasts about 45 minutes. Please allow a total of 60–75 minutes for your appointment to include consultation and post-session care.

6. How should I prepare for my appointment?

  • Eat light meals the day before and stay well-hydrated.

  • Avoid heavy or greasy foods, carbonated drinks, and alcohol prior to your session.

  • It's helpful to avoid eating for 2 hours before your appointment.

7. How many sessions do I need?

This varies by individual goals and condition. Some people benefit from a series of 3-6 sessions initially, while others incorporate colon hydrotherapy as part of their regular wellness routine. Your practitioner will guide you with a personalized recommendation.

8. Will one session completely empty my colon?

Not typically. The colon is approximately 5–6 feet long, and while one session can remove a significant amount of waste, a series may be needed for deeper cleansing and more lasting results.

9. Is colon hydrotherapy habit-forming?

No. Colon hydrotherapy helps retrain the colon to function better on its own. With a healthy diet and lifestyle, regular bowel movements can be restored and maintained naturally.

10. Are there any contraindications?

Colon hydrotherapy may not be suitable for individuals with certain conditions, such as severe hemorrhoids, recent abdominal surgery, gastrointestinal bleeding, diverticulitis, or certain heart or kidney issues. A health screening will be completed to ensure your safety.

11. What can I expect after a session?

You may feel lighter, more energized, and experience improved digestion. Mild fatigue or additional bowel movements may occur. Drinking water, eating nourishing foods, and resting afterward are encouraged.

12. Can I return to normal activities after the session?

Yes! Most clients feel comfortable returning to work or daily routines immediately after their appointment.

13. Can I get colon hydrotherapy while on my period?

Yes, you can receive colon hydrotherapy during your menstrual cycle. Many women actually find it helpful for relieving bloating, cramping, and water retention that can occur during their period. We recommend wearing a tampon or menstrual cup for comfort and hygiene. If you feel especially tired or sensitive, you’re welcome to reschedule—your comfort always comes first.
